this site is dead just check this shit out

as you can see it’s in a vegetable state right now. don’t ever expect anything from here again, except maybe another “this site is over” post in a few weeks just as a reminder that it is in fact dead. to be honest though I’m a bit proud of how many people (bots) are still visiting this place and to be even more honest this post will probably attract a few too. its fucked but so is your future so we’re all on the same level

also critic is p child like this year thumbs down homo jo

Campus Shop

I really like V and pepsi!  Please keep up the good work at providing everyone with V and Pepsi!! Also I appericate the joy you bring to the process of buying a nice bottle of Pepsi followed up by a $4 sandwhich or a $7 microwavable burger.

it is very good. keep up the good work guys 🙂 I look forward to reading more informative articles in the future on what people are doing in the halls and student politics! also I think you should cover topics about how sometimes freshers drink too much and do more reviews so we can find out what more students think about things!

I also find the suggestion that people would read critic instead of listening in lectures very funny and bears repeating every issue! If I see someone reading critic in class instead of taking notes I will inform them of that.

Another thing I like alot is how you take comics from the internet like XKCD and viruscomix and put them in your print magazine! I like that a lot since I don’t always have printer paper at home and you almost always manage to find the comics that reflect my tastes as a student.

My personal favourite however is how the student interview column “Bunch Of Fives” takes up a whole page filled with what my fellow student accosted around the link (I sit there!) think!

Just putting in an update to say I am going to update semi regularly this year..

Usually one post every Thursday (starting tomorrow). There isn’t really going to be any set theme but if i post something that you like, tell me and i’ll try to post more stuff like it. Likewise if I post something you dislike tell me and i’ll try to post less of it.

well it’s another year
and what of it?

I’ve spent the last couple months doing a lot of things, and one of them has been debating what to do with this site

and the conclusion is: just leave it the fuck alone..

it’s tempting almost to crank it back up for another year, but I don’t want just another year. it would have to be bigger and better than last year. and that would require money. I almost emailed a couple of places (the cook and PB technology) about sponsorshop, in fact I did email the cook but I must have put the wrong address in as it bounced back and my motivation was scarred..

(it also doesn’t help that wordpress is fucking out on me all the time. you just can’t get good shit for free no-more)

and so without money I can’t find a way to encourage more content and my mind has run out of wit and so while I’m not going to shut this down, don’t expect any kind of regular update or anything ever again.. unless for some reason there is massive public outcry but it’s unlikely seeing as I don’t think this site was really all that popular anyway

of course if other people want to contribute they can, if someone wants to take over I might even hand over the reigns if they seem worthy enough.. but these things are unlikely and I’m only putting them here to make it seem like there is a possibility something else may ever be posted here

is this the end? by ophalm

is this the end? it’s certainly close to the end of semester and therefore the year. everyone has shitloads to do yet somehow still manage to procrastinate.

anyway, you’re unlikely to receive much new from this for the rest of the uni year and then it’s terribly fucking unlikely if anyone is likely to write anything during the 4 months between years.. soo…. maybe you’ll get lucky or maybe you won’t.. maybe you’ll have sex… or most likely you’ll probably be too drunk on that one opportunity that god gracefully gave you and not have sex the entire time so undoubtedly a fuck ton of masturbation will take place and cause you pangs of shame when out in public and someone points at the semen stains on your pants. this isn’t nice or pretty but neither are rugby stadium toilets after test matches and both happen in reality.

and after that 4 months, who knows? who cares about anything anymore? can anything change? will it? are we powerless? the answers are nobody, nobody, no, no and yes. a life’s lesson in a single sentence -> is there anything I can’t annihilate?

which brings me to the closing. at church they used to know that over the break they lose lots of christians to the “world”[1].. because they get exposed to the world and realise how fabulous it is and leave church.
so, on that note, you fuckers better not stop thinking over this break. working “jobs” causes you to think like a retard and read car magazines at lunch. don’t be that guy

[1]I never understood why, despite that, they still have breaks? surely saving some teenagers from a firey pit is more important than the leaders having a break?

With all this wank about about OUSA elections, I raise a question, what does it matter? The president is to perform some functional roles, yes. But I could easily do what ever it is they do. Go to a meeting, uphold what ever agreements have been made blah blah (I don’t want to that, but I could) . Essentially, I think it is a role that could held by most people. I’m not saying we shouldn’t have one, but why on earth do they expect me care who it is? As long it’s not a retarded monkey, they will do the same thing. It’s not like national government where my choice actually has an impact on outcomes affecting me. They will not lower fees, get cheaper food on campus or uncover that tunnel opposit the clocktower where you used to be able to get down to the Leith. That’s not the fault of OUSA, it’s just that the University is a multimillion dollar industry and they are not going to let a bunch of kids who have loitered around campus for a couple of years go changing things willy nilly. Of course I am willing to have my mind changed… comments…?

the greatest thing on the internet? by ophalm

or have I sold out?

since I’m a bit of a sucker for punishment, and get more thrills than any sane person should from putting effort into making up stuff on the internet that only a limited number of people will ever read, I’ve created the otago massacre forums. yep that’s right

the great thing about forums like this, is that you end up with about 5 or 10 people registering, and getting poor to moderate use for a week before no-one posts and it’s kinda like a ghost town but there are no e-tumble weeds. and that is what running an amateur blog is all about, that kind of thing!

so should you go there? I don’t know. hardly anyone replies to the posts on this site even if a reasonable amount of people visit it, so it’s unlikely there is any real reason. but I’ll be there for a while anyway, and maybe a few made up people and desperate loners too…

I even made part of the forum available for guests to post in without having to register. oh the joy that will bring!
